Events
Creative Leicestershire is running a series of group discussions on the issue of how artists and creatives make a living. The event is focussed on self-employed artists, performers, writers, film-makers, designers & craftspeople and those running small arts/creative businesses. The event will use the tried-and-tested Open Space technique so that all those attending can both contribute to the discussion and learn from each other (www.openspaceworld.org).
Attendees set the agenda of the evening by raising topics that they wish to talk about. For example, designing a website or getting paid on time. Each topic is allocated to a particular table and everyone is then asked to join the discussion table that is of interest to them.
The event is designed so that the attendees get as much from the discussions as they want. If you feel that you're not contributing or learning from the session that you are in, you're encouraged to get up and find another discussion to join or leave if there isn't another of interest. This is the law of 'two feet'.
The event runs from 17.00 to 19.30pm and is free to residents of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. For attendees outside these counties, there will be a charge of £5 that is payable on the door
