Artists wanted - Summer craft workshops, Craftspace Collective, BirminghamPosted by W.Midlands on 13th February 2012
Craftspace Collective are a group of young people aged 16-25 who are interested in craft, design and making. Based in Digbeth's Custard Factory, we create projects based around ideas of guerilla craft, DIY crafts and craftivism, often running interventions and workshops in open spaces around Birmingham to introduce craft techniques to the wider public. For more info about the Collective visit our blog at www.craftspacecollective.wordpress.com.
We are looking for three artists to get involved with our upcoming events in Northfield, Sparkbrook and Erdington this summer. Each artist will be invited to work with us over 2-3 sessions to develop and deliver a fun and interactive craft workshop at one of the events (exact dates TBC)
We are interested in hearing from artists and makers working in any craft medium from embroidery to jewellery to printmaking - or maybe something entirely different! However we are looking for artists who are enthusiastic and have a passion for sharing their skills with others, so experience in running artist workshops would be great.
Expressions of interest should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org along with a brief description of your practice and relevant experience and up to 5 jpeg images of recent work.
Deadline 6pm Friday 24th February
