Artist Commission Journeys Festival had its première presentation in August at Town Hall Square, Leicester. This unique event saw 60 Refugee & Asylum Seeker Artists present a programme of spoken word, live music, visual and digital arts, moving image and theatre to an audience of 6,000 over the two days. The Festival aimed to support the career development of Refugee Artists in the region, and provide an important platform for mainstream audiences to engage with these artists, and the diversity of cultural activity they offered. Alongside these immediate outcomes ArtReach wants to use the Festival and the momentum it has created as a driver and a catalyst for new work in the area. To further this objective Journeys...

St George's Bristol and Platforma South West, the arts and refugees network, are partnering on a groundbreaking project to showcase the work of local new and emerging performing and visual artists from refugee backgrounds.
